When Life Hands You Lemons...

You run that's what! How many of us stand and face the music? Only heroic people that's all and then they get famous for it! Me I much prefer to be a coward, running makes life easier to deal with. As a nation were good at running away from our problems. Some examples:

1. Credit Crunch - People are spending more!! How does this make sense?! A prime example of people running away from their problems and burying their heads in the sand.

2. The amount of people living abroad - Lets face it Britain is in recession, we either pretend its not happening or we flee without facing our nation as a loyal citizen. I know what I want to do though!! Run! Running is cowardly. Can I be one please?!

3. Police - When something goes wrong who do we blame? Not ourselves for creating a society that permits community law above actual law no not that, no its the police for letting this crime happen. We are such cowards. How can we blame them when we created this society! A materialistic society that feeds on money and stuff. A society that is confused. For example we buy something that comes off the back of a lorry and that's OK. But if we see someone jumping a barrier at the train station or getting caught for shoplifting that's stealing. How is this right? I've got news for you!! It's all stealing!!!

We are cowards and those of us that are not, well i take my hat off to you. I am a coward and as I am writing this I myself have run away from a situation that i cannot deal with. I would rather just bury my head in the sand and pretend its not happening because this is the easier option.

However to be heroic that would be a nice thing, but do I want to be discredited or accused? Being heroic means being isolated. I think its more being a martyr. And these days that's a dangerous word! Martyrs have been around for centuries. Look at Martin Luther King Jr he was a martyr, he died unfortunately for the world. He was a great man he had a plan he didn't bury his head in the sand. He stood up for what was right even though it may have been difficult and people hated him for it. He died though knowing that when life gave him lemons he took them and changed a situation for the better.

So why cant we be like that? Simple because were cowards. Who wants to be hated and made a fool of? Not me for certain. I like my life. I like being liked and staying with the "Status Quo". But then I do dream of an existence where I stand up and I am counted for what I believe in. I really hope one day people do hate me and I know that when life handed me lemons I took them and ate them, spat them up and then laughed in the face of those who would think differently.

But for now i leave you with the words of Iron Maiden - "Run to the Hills"
